Duane Zemper Photo Collection (NEW)

Duane Zemper was head of the photo department at Glatton. Flying missions and taking photos of bombed targets. After a mission he and his staff had to develop the photos and take them to the generals to see if a mission was successful or not.

Every day, for two years, these men worked in the photo lab and in the air leaving us now with impressive and beautiful clear digital images taken from the original photos. Mister Duane Zemper was interviewed in a documentary you will find here. He talks about his life and his time with the 457th Bomb Group and it is great to watch!

The Zemper family also have in their collection a book that was presented to Colonel J.R. Luper to celebrate the 1000th B-17 coming from the Douglas Long Beach production line. You will find information and photos from the Zemper collection about the 1000th B-17 here.
