Clifford Benjamin Digre (CB) was born in 1923 in Hendricks, Minnesota. After he graduated from Hendricks High School in 1941, he entered the Army Air Corps in 1943 and became a radio operator/gunner with the 749th Bomb Squadron. Sgt. Clifford kept a diary writing down all his mission experiences and on and off base adventures. His diary has been a great source of information about his life but also about the 457th Bomb Group. Apart from his diary he also made a lot of photos. Clifford Digre was discharged after World War II in 1945. He later graduated from radio school, receiving his first-class radio-operator license.
In 1949, Cliff Digre started a small, loud-speaker-rebuilding business. The business developed into a successful speaker manufacturing company in Minneapolis—Minneapolis Speaker Company (MISCO)—an international corporation.
Cliff is the author of the book ‘Into Life’s School, My World War II Memories’. The photos in this collection are from his book.
