Information: This A2 jacket belonged to 1st Lt. Frederick C. Ernest, co-pilot from Sour Lake, TX. On the left breast pocket is painted in yellow the name ‘FRED’ with red trim above a Bugs Bunny head. On the right breast pocket is painted the 457th Bomb Group shield insignia and ‘FAIT ACCOMPLI’. On the back of the jacket is painted a B-17 G with tail markings for the 457th Bomb Group on a cloud below ‘HEAVEN’S DEVILS’, below are 30 bomb tallies painted in orange for missions in groups of five each.
