HISTORY OF GLATTON

Glatton or station 130 was the airbase where all the men and machines of the 457th Bomb Group were stationed. This is where the ground crews worked on the planes, where the men slept, where they ate, where they watched movies, wrote letters and heared about friends who didn’t return.

To honor the base I will be writing articles about Glatton, it’s building and places of interest. For these articles I will be using every bit of information I can find in documents, books, letters, diaries and official U.S. documents. I will use old and new photos to show locations or what buildings would have looked like and their purpose.

I will try to add new articles now and then but research and writing take up a lot of time.
